“A number of memorably multilayered characters and performances stand out. The deeply religious Twinkle Toes (Georgia Kate Cohen) has further depths: What seems a moralistic desire to save a bunkmate’s soul turns out to be rooted in a very earthly trauma – which doesn’t prevent her from mugging hilariously as emcee at the crew’s talent show – which contrasts with shy, obsequious respect for the captain.”
- Jon Sobel, *blogcritics (Maiden Voyage)
“Georgia Kate Cohen is well-cast as the Goody Two-shoes Twinkle Toes.”
- Deirdre Donovan, Off Off Online (Maiden Voyage)
“Across-the-board terrific cast of fully committed actors who nail the hysterical plots and deliver the demeanors, language, and accents of the farcical characters with spot-on timing, emotive voices and facial expressions, and expert physical comedy”
- Deb Miller, DC Theater Arts (Serials)

Maiden Voyage charts the first all-female patrol aboard a US submarine. We are spectators in these women’s lives, until mechanics and interpersonal relationships go awry. Motivated by a subconscious need to overcompensate for gender inequality The Captain slowly chips away at her integrity in order to have a successful mission. This play explores the intersection between opportunity and marginalization and the mimicry of maleness to get ahead.
Presentation of this work is made possible with the support from The NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre by the City of New York Foundation for the Arts and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Creative Engagement Grant.
